This page explains what we do with your details when you book or write to us. If you want anything here changed or removed, email us and we will sort it out.

When you book we ask for your name, email address, phone number, the dates you want, how many people are coming and anything you choose to tell us in the notes. When you send us a message we keep that message and your email address so we can reply. Our web server also records the usual visit information, which is your network address, the pages you opened and the time, and we keep that for a short period to spot problems and faults.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us, so we never see or store your card number. We keep a record that the payment happened and what it was for.
Your booking appears in the estate calendar so the people running Barrisdale know who is arriving and when. That calendar is Google Calendar. Our email runs through Google. Payments run through Stripe. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to anyone else.
We use an assistant to help answer common questions by email. It reads messages sent to the estate address and drafts replies about things like directions, the cottages and availability. Anything it cannot answer goes to a person. You can ask to deal with a person at any time and we will.
If you arrive from an advert we store a short code in your browser so we can tell which adverts bring people here. It holds no personal details and you can clear it by clearing your browser storage. We may also report back to Google that a booking happened, without telling them who you are.
We keep booking records for as long as we need them for our accounts and tax, which is normally six years. Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while they are useful and then cleared out.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email the estate and we will deal with it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details you can complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.
